Our story starts not in the gleaming labs of Johns Hopkins, but in rural Nigeria. Dr. Ogungbe and her brother Lanre Ogungbe lost their grandmother to  preventable heart disease at a young age. From this tragedy emerged a lifelong passion for heart health. Dr. Ogungbe spent the next decade researching new methods and models for treating heart health, while Lanre entered the world of business, starting a successful company, Prembly, which provides identity verification to over 20 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. Along with CMO Jacob Balin MD and Product Lead Tosin Tomiwa they are excited to bring their multidisciplinary skills and passion to a new project: improving heart health as Leira, Inc.
